The treatment options for the management of leukemias, lymphomas and other blood malignancies are numerous and can vary from one centre to another, and especially from one country to another. Many factors are considered when trying to decide the best treatment for a patient, including:
age
other health conditions
specific features or behaviour of the patient's cancer
prior experience and results with each treatment in Vancouver
potential side effects of the treatments
patient preference (to some extent)
