Dr. John Shepherd is the Director of the Leukemia/BMT Program of BC. He has been a senior staff with the Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant Program of BC since 1987, and has done extensive research in the area of novel therapies for AML in older patients and the use of both autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplant for multiple myeloma. He was the Canadian PI and a member of the steering committee of the IRIS trial of Imatinib for chronic myeloid leukemia. From 2001-2007 he served as Vice President of the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.
